1916 Uprising Centenary Celebration

Our 1916 Uprising Centenary celebrations held at St, Francis Centre in Ajax on April 2nd, went over beautifully. We sold out the tickets and all scheduled guests arrived in good time. The Irish Ambassador to Canada, Dr. Ray Bassett, gave a stiring adress to the crowd. The Toronto Irish Players put on a scene from "Shadow of a Gunman", two groups of Irish musicians and Irish dances performed for us. The most poignant part of the festivities was the reading of the Proclamation in Irish, English and French. The luncheon provided was superb. Many thanks to the organizing committee an to our advertisers and patrons. We couldn't have done it without you. Please scroll down to see photos of the event.
